A world-class golf academy is not possible without a top level facility. Lori is the Lead Instructor at the GBC Golf Academy. The academy is located at Olympic View Golf Club in Victoria and offers everything Lori needs to provide a well-rounded instructional experience.

Long Game Practice

The GBC Golf Academy Long Game Area

The GBC Golf Academy offers large grass hitting decks and several target greens with bunkers to accurately simulate on-course conditions. Complete with areas to practice out of the rough, off side-hill lies and other trouble shots, the facility offers everything a golfer needs to work on their long game.

Short Game Practice

One of the many GBC Golf Academy
Short Game Areas

You have probably heard how important the short game is to your score. It is so important, John offers Short Game Schools devoted entirely to shots played from within 100 yards of the green. The GBC Golf Academy features two large short game areas. With putting greens, chipping greens, practice bunkers and a fantastic wedge area for shots of 25 - 120 yards, every facet of the short game can be taught and improved. You will learn the ability to hit all the short shots and, better yet, know when to use them.

Video Instruction

V1 software is a key element of
the golf schools

Video instruction has advanced to an amazing level. John use a state-of-the-art computer video system that utilizes V1 software. V1, the same software used by the game's best teachers like Butch Harmon, gives John all the tools needed for diagnosing swing faults and, more importantly, the ability to clearly communicate them to the student.

The video system also gives John the ability to send a complete summary of the key points from a lesson to each student via the Internet. These video summaries provide a great reference so each student can stay on the correct path long after they attend a lesson. The Golf Course

Olympic View's #17

The golf course is another key element of a great golf academy. Olympic View offers a nationally ranked layout that is challenging in places and beautiful from start to finish. As the name indicates, there are several views of the nearby Olympic Mountains. The course meanders through typical west coast terrain with many of the holes are cut out of the forest and there are several nice elevation changes which provide great vistas and some fun with club selection. The signature hole, used in many magazines and golf articles, is the 17th pictured to the right. The waterfall is behind the green and the roar of the water gets progressively louder as you approach the hole. For more information about Olympic View, go to the Golf BC web site.

John is very pleased to be at the GBC Golf Academy at Olympic View. He is sure you will find the facilities to be everything you could hope for and make your instructional experience very rewarding.
