Meet Some of Our Students

We are very proud of our program and all of our students. They work hard, enjoy golf and behave like great people at all times.

Here are a few of our students who have done well the last couple of years and a few kind words about John and the program.

Tai Reynolds

Tai has been working with John since January of 2005. During this time, Tai has developed into a steady and good performer. He is presently playing collegiate golf at Southern Utah University as a freshman. In the fall semester, Tai played in 4 events, twice finishing in the top 10 and winning the Conference Player of the Week award once. Pretty amazing stuff for a freshman. Tai is a great role model for other junior golfers combining a great work ethic with excellent behavior on and off the course.

Some of Tai's junior accomplishments:

2006 - Zone 5 Junior Champion
2006 - Qualified for World Junior
2006 - Lyle Crawford Junior Champion
2006 - Zone 5 Amateur - 5th

A Quote from Tai about John

"John rocks! He helped me focus on all aspects of my game - mental, physical and golf self esteem. He is professional and breaks things down so they are understandable. John has helped make my swing solid, compact and reliable repeatable. John's short game expertise has been invaluable for me."

Ashton Herriott

Ashton first started working with John on his game in the summer of 2004. Ashton is a naturally gifted player and a fiery competitor. He is presently in his freshman year at the University of Hawaii. Another great success story, Ashton shows what hard work can accomplish. John is very proud of the player Ashton has become and looks for big things in the future.

Some of Ashton's junior accomplishments:

2006 - Qualified for World Junior
2006 - Qualified for World Optimist Junior in Florida
2006 - 4th in the Zone 5 Junior Champion
2006 - 6th at BC Junior
2006 - 24th at BC Amateur
2006 - Royal Colwood Junior Champion
2006 - Several top-5 finishes

A Quote from Ashton about John

"John has a thorough understanding of the golf swing and has really taught me the fundamentals that are necessary to develop a consistent, repeatable golf swing. His teaching strategy has helped me take my game to the next level. Without his assistance, I would have never had the opportunity to play so many tournaments throughout Canada and the United States. Thanks John."

Jared Hundza

Jared took part in the Elite Junior Program in the winter and spring of 2006. Jared has loads of talent and as a Juvenile, had a terrific 2006 season. He had several top-6 finishes in tournaments, often winning his age category. Jared is going to be a great player and more importantly, is a pleasure to be around at all times.

Some of Jared's recent accomplishments:

Tim Wang

Tim has joined John's International Program at the academy from China. His infectious smile and great demeanor has made Tim a big hit with everyone at Olympic View. Tim is destined for great golf and is working hard in preparation for the 2007 season. He is doing very well, especially considering he is also learning to speak English.

A few words from Tim about John:

I was practicing and learning golf for five months and very happy I can study golf with John. When I came here, I had very bad swing and wasn't very interested for golf but John can lets me be happy. He has helped me to improve my golf a lot. I and my family all like him and I think I will study with him to be a very good professional golf player.

Eric Smith

Eric has been working with John for several years. He had a break out year in 2004, winning several events, capturing the Zone Junior Order of Merit and Player of the Year award. While his results in 2005 and 2006 didn't live up to his expectations, Eric is now a top member of Camosun College's golf team and helped lead them to a conference championship in 2006. He is enrolled in the Professional Golf Management program. He has rededicated himself to golf and is making plans to play professionally.
