Which Wedges Should You Carry?

You are a golfer who is starting to play better but may need a push to take the next step with your game. Mike won the 2003 Masters in large part because of his stellar wedge game. To become a good wedge player, you first need the proper selection of wedges in your bag. Specifically, your wedges need to have the correct lofts. The key is making sure the gaps between the lofts are consistent so the gaps between your yardages are also consistent.

Refer to the chart provided for the ideal lofts, depending on how many wedges you can carry.

Which Wedges to Carry

If you carry 2 wedges: PW (48º) and SW (56º)

If you carry three wedges: PW (48º), SW (54º) and LW (60º)

If you carry four wedges: PW (48º), GW (52º), SW (56º) and LW (60º)
