  • Condé Nast Traveler magazine rated Victoria the best city in the Americas. It ranked second in the world for ambiance, nosed out by Carmel, California.
  • Condé Nast Traveler magazine also ranked Vancouver Island as the best island in North America, finishing ahead of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and Kiawah, South Carolina. These names are not new to golf fans.

In 2002, the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine ranked Victoria as the fifth best city in the world. Cities finishing ahead of Victoria included Sydney, Australia, Rome and Florence. Pretty impressive company!
